MTSBOA Auditions Saturday (12/7/2013) and Inclement Weather
MTSBOA is aware of the chance of inclement weather that may adversely affect our scheduled auditions for 7th and 8th grade All Midstate Band, Orchestra and Jazz Band. The latest weather models have Middle Tennessee barely being impacted by the storm that is moving through the area over the next two days. At this point, there are no plans to cancel the auditions or alter the announced schedule.
Please be very aware of local conditions in regards to travel hazards. Registration is already scheduled to be open until noon, so trying to leave home incredibly early in order to be at the front of line is not really necessary in order to audition. As you know, even when there is a winter weather event in Middle Tennessee, 90% of the time the roads are safe by 10 am or so. We'll keep registration open past 12 noon if needed to accommodate our students.
Should conditions warrant changes in the schedule, such as delaying the opening of registration and beginning of auditions, extending the hours of registration and auditions, or any more intensive measures, directors will be notified via email through the Google Group and announcements will be posted here.
We know how important this day is to our students and our members' band and orchestra programs. We are committed to auditions going forward so long as prevailing conditions do not make this impossible. We all may have to be a little flexible to make things work well for our students on Saturday.

Dear Friends and Colleagues:
I hope all of you have had a great semester so far. I know we've all got a lot on our plate this time of the year, but MTSBOA needs your help. We are in the process of compiling a list of potential sponsors for the Midstate Clinic weekends in the form of program sponsors. Many companies have an invested interest in sponsoring midstate and getting publicity. Midstate is HUGE part of our budget and sponsorship can help out greatly on a number of levels.
I've attached the program sponsor form. You can either:
A) Give this sponsorship form to people/companies you may know personally.
B) Give me contact info for people/companies you feel may have an invested interest in MTSBOA and I can forward it through the correct channels.
I'm working with Clayton Ledford, the person who has been helping to coordinate program sponsors, to compile a list of past sponsors and add potential additional sponsors to that list. Clayton is fantastic at what he does, but he's not a music educator. We need your input here. We know we don't have all the answers, so please chime in with suggestions for sponsors by emailing me at: email@example.com
